I lost my retainer. They are expensive to make. Does anyone know if there is a website to get them?

Question:
Perhaps make the molds and send them off. Orthodontists do that afterall. Where can I get them cheaper? Serious answers only please.

Answers:
Try google. Seriously.

An orthodontist is most likely not going to let you have the molds; that is their bread and butter and what ensures you'll be back to hi for the rest of your work. And your next challenge is getting the adjustments made. An Ortho needs to tweak the retainer once in a while for fit and wear; no way can someone online do that for you.

You're stuck going back to your Ortho, and getting a new retainer. Unless you find your old one, of course. Do not wait too long, I didn't wear my retainer once for a week, (on holidays and left it at home as it was only a night-wear) and things shifted enough while I was gone so that the retainer didn't fit when I got back.
The same thing happened to me. I just decided to forget about it completely. It was for my top teeth and fortunately those were already pretty good when i got braces so yeah.
There is no website.... i wouldn't even consider that option, it would be very dodgy. If there was, the reatainer probably wouldn't retain your teeth in the correct position and you could potentially end up worse off.... Why buy a 2nd rate retainer when you have just spent a fortune getting them perfect.

Your best bet would be to hold someone ransom.
If you have the materials to take a mold yourself, you can do the mold and take it directly to a dental lab. However, that will be more expensive than going to the orthodontist/dentist, because they have much better rates with the dental labs than members of the general public do. I would just go back to the ortho and get a new one.

Also, the design of your retainer often depends on what the original problem was with your teeth, and no one knows that better than your orthodontist (not even you).
