I would never tell someone to use ice cream for an abcess. This could actually worsten the condition. Ice cream contains sugars that bacteria love and can thrive on. I would suggest, using either a regular icepak or a bag of frozen veggies.

No ice creams will not help to reduce the abscess swelling.Presence of abscess indicates ongoing infection and inflammation which can be resolved only with antibiotics.
