Answers:
i've had this done for me, my dds added (i forget the name of the procedure) enamel/or some material to cover the tooth so that is wasn't so sensitive, he said this was caused by brushing too hard or grinding my teeth while sleeping, if i remember correctly, it was called some type of comestic procedure

Other Answers:
The answer is treat gum line erosion by PREVENTION.
1) Try not to drink highly acidic drinks, soft drinks, cordial etc..
2) Try not to brush your teeth with hard toothbrushes
3) Rinse you mouth with water for 1 min or more after acidic contents enter your mouth either via consuming acidic foods and drinks or via regurtitation of foods.
4) Don't brush your teeth straightafter consuming acidic foods.
5) See your dentist about night splints if you grind your teeth.
6) Brush with the correct technique.

If erosion in the gumline is already present then you can restore the area with composite restorative materials or by capping the teeth (although no recommended if erosion is the only problem that requires treatment)
