Wisdom teeth, a dentist's opinion would be nice?
Question:
i was wondering if this is normal and whether or not i will have to have them pulled anyway.
Answers:
Of course, I can't say without seeing an x-ray, but it sounds like they are coming in. Yes, 16 is pretty young. It has been my experience that, when wisdom teeth actually start to come in at such an early age, they are coming in because there is room for themand they are not impacted. Let's just call this a hunch, though, since I can't see you or your teeth.
colleen - all opf mine were in and i lived with them until i had to get too many fillings. my mom is 72 and still has hers. unless they are bothering you physically - pain or shifting teeth - they do NOT have to come out!
The only problems that arise with wizzys is when they don't fit in, and are hard to keep clean. Otherwise they are just another molar.
Unfortunately, most people don't fit them in. Also, many people wait until they have pain before seeking removal, and by then it is often the teeth in front of the wizzy that has been damaged.
It's still a bit early for you be confident. The top ones usually can come thru, but it's the bottom wizzys that are most troublesome.
Have it checked out by your dentist at the next visit.
