How much does wisdom teeth removal hurt?

Question:
I have to get all 4 out at the same time and I need to know how much it hurts, how long the reocvery time is,and how much swelling occurs.Thank you guys!

Answers:
It doesn't hurt at all during the surgery cuz you will be drugged, but afterwards you will have some mild pain, but nothing tylenol or ibuprofen can't fix. If i remember right, when i had all four of mine done at the same time, i had stitches all the way--I think they desolved on their own in about 4 weeks, but the swelling and pain was gone in about a week. All people are different so you may have no pain, or no swelling--hard to tell!

Other Answers:
Depends how impacted they are Swelling can be real bad if impacted a lot.

I would like to know as well, because I think I have to get mine taken out. Good luck! I'll be sure to read these answers. Let me know how it goes..I'm freaking out about mine!! Well the swelling is what hurts.your mouth will be really sore. You need to drink soup. You will feel weak and not in the mood to do much. You will more than likely be all drugged up too. I hated my experience-- your face gets all poofy! Anyway-- it will take about a good week to feel better. BTW-- it really sucks. But at least you only have to do it once.

Every I know has had a different experience. But you should be good to go in a few days at the most. Some people are fine the next day. Just stock up on ice cream and popsicles, and lots of good books, dvd's and stuff. Good Luck!

Mine didn't hurt at all. I got all 4 removed at the same time as well. They put an IV in your arm and your asleep pretty much the whole time.at least I was. Afterwards, your mouth will be sore for a few days, but you can take pain reliever which helps and eat soft foods. They give you some stuff that you have to spray in your mouth.I can't remember what it was called, but it's supposed to help keep it from getting dry socket. It really wasn't that bad, at least not for me.

I was put to sleep to have mine removed and in a couple of days I was fine. If you smoke, don't for a couple days if you get what is called dry socket, it's a killer. Depends--bottom ones can b really bad, believe me! I had a top one done and had no pain. I had a bottom one done and my cheek was swelled for over a week, and I had lots of pain.

It didn't hurt at all. Of course, I had them knock me out and give me local anastetics. They also gave me prescription pain medicine afterwards. It does get really swollen, but only for the first day or two. The recovery will take a while. The holes in the back of your mouth will stay open and you will have to keep them clean.

it all depends on how deep your teeth are rooted and also how much pain killer they give you. for my it just feel like he was trying to shake my head off but no pain. The pain came after when the drugs wear off. that's when you have to eat some over the counter pain killers for a day or so. but you'll talk funny for the rest of the day.

They kinda knocked me out some some IV, but when I woke up I was tired and a little sore. The next day, my mouth tasted bad and it was swollen, but there was a dull ache, not severe pain. It lasted about three days (not unbearable). You have to be real careful about getting a dry socket. I've know people who have never hurt and people that laid in bed for days. The needle to inject the novocaine is the worst part. I had all 4 of mine done at once. There was no cutting or stitches involved, though, because all mine were through the gums. I wish I had mine removed much earlier because I feel so much better now - Less pain with them, better breath, less sinus drainage and hardly any heartburn.

It won't hurt because you'll be put under. Afterwards, you will be on some really good drugs that will keep you knocked out for the most part. No dental surgery feels nice, but you won't be suffering either. Just be sure to follow directions with regards to rinsing your mouth out. no smoking (if you do). and be sure you have someone there to help you. You'll be just fine in a few days. :-)

Best wishes!

I had all 4 of mine done at once too, I thought it would only take a couple days so I took 2 days off from work. I could have used 4!
Really it is different for everyone, the swelling will go down in a couple of days but it can still hurt after that. For me, I also had brusing on my cheeks for at least a week. It wasn't fun but I was glad I got it over with in one shot!
