If you are old enough to have your wisdom teeth removed, you are probably fine taking Vicodin in an appropriate dose. Unless you weigh something like 80 pounds... I'd probably limit the dose to one tab per dose and no more than six per day, if I was writing the Rx.

Many doctors will prescrive either Motrin 800mg, or Tylenol III which has codeine in it so it just depends on the DR.

I had my wisdom teeth out when I was just 18 and they told me to take tylenol. It was painless and I had no trouble at all. They took all 4 out at once and sent me home. Piece of cake.
