Would braces and other orthodontic treatments help elongate the lower jaw on an adult?

Question:
I have a good bite but my jaw didn't grow as much because of some malocclusion. I know that orthodontist can lengthen the jaw on children during their growth spurt, but if you are an adult is it even possible? Is jaw surgery the only option?

Answers:
I think jaw surgery like Carol Burnet and Julia Roberts had is the only real option for you. Are you sure that you need it? We are all born with some self-perceived deficiencies that others simply don't notice or care about as they are too preoccupied with their own self-perceived deficiencies.
Braces might straighten your teeth, but I doubt they'd do anything for your jaw. I've heard that in bad cases of overcrowding, an orthodonist might have to break the bottom jaw and reset it. So surgury is probably your only option.
