I got a tooth removed yesterday, if I vomit will this irritate the hole?

Question:
I know this is kind of a gross question, but I'm sick - flu-ish and I just ate and I'm fighting to keep vomit down. I feel like I'd feel a lot better if I could throw up but I'm scared of how it will effect the hole in my mouth that is healing from when I got a molar removed yesterday.

Answers:
rinse your mouth with warm salt water, it will clean the area that the tooth was removed in and help it heal faster.
you could maybe try putting one of those cotton thingys over the tooth before
Go blow chunks! It won't hurt the socket. Rinse you mouth when you are done - the acid is hard on your teeth.
Can't really help it if ur sick--just rinse ur mouth out with a warm saline solution (safe bet: 1 part salt to 4 parts water)
girl just do it. and rinse your mouth out afterwards with some mouthwash.
i have had a tooth pulled and vomited and i didn't have a problem
be careful.. the thing that could happen is a dry socket. when you vomit the heaving puts strain on the socket - especially if it wa a lower. when you rinse be very carful not to do the sucking motion - it too can cause the dry socket. i recommend - if you don't have a waterpik -- fill a plastic ziploc bag with lukewarm water cut off the tip and gentle, gentle rinse that area.

you don't want to loosen the clot that's formed -it's what causes the dry socket and that is worse then any flu feeling.

feel better!
