tell ur dentist he will fix it in a moment! it happened to me... it wpuld fell to much better!
go back to your orthodontist and tell them to loosen it for you. it happens all the time to me too. eitehr that or you'll get used it the retainers
i dont have my retainer yet but i suppose you can use wax
call and get an appointment with your orthodontist for an adjustment. He or she probably needs to adjust it to make it fit better. If it cant be adjusted then your mouth will get used to it, like it did with the braces. Remember when you got them on and you got sores from where the wires poked you? Your mouth got used to it.
If it only happens when you are sleeping, you may be grinding or clenching your teeth and that can force the retainer up onto the gums more than they are supposed to be! If this is the case, you may need to have a different type of retainer made. There are many different types.
In the meantime you could probably put some wax on the spots that are causing the sores, to help the tissue heal.
By the way, if you are talking about what I think you are, I dont think those are meant to help you take the retainer out. If you pull too hard on these then the retainer wont fit like it should, it could make the retainer looser. (are you describing the wires that go over your canines?)
