I have fillings on the front of my teeth and I want to whiten my teeth. How do I do this?
Question:
Answers:
Whitening your teeth won't change the shade of your fillings. Your best bet is to have the fillings changed, but if your insurance doesn't cover that.then you may want to hold off on the teeth whitening. For now, why not ask your dentist if you can just get the trays done, and that way you can wear the trays with bleaching gel. The process is much more gradual, which will get you the results of "teeth whitening procedures" but in a longer amount of time. That way you can also watch the progress. You may be happy with that instead.
Other Answers:
Unfortunately composit material(white filling) does not bleach. You can go ahead and bleach your teeth and see how much the fillings stand out. You may find out that the composits were not the correct shade to begin with and they look better now. Otherwise the only thing you can do is replace them. Check your insurance and see how often they pay to replace fillings.
