Wisdom tooth socket sore/pain, is it normal?

Question:
I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed 3 weeks. I thought they were all healed, and I wasn't feeling any pain. A couple of days ago I thought I had food stuck back there, and discovered white puss surrounding the sockets. Now that area is very sore when I talk or smile. Is it normal? Am I still in danger for infection?

Answers:
Call your dentist have it checked out, haveing a post operative complication is part of the extractions risk . He would much rather see you for a question than for an infection.

Call soon

Other Answers:
If you have pus, you better call your dentist right away. He needs to get you on an antibiotic. If you call tomorrow, he will probably want to see you immediately.
