Is there ANY way?

Question:
Is there ANY way I can get fillings without my mum finding out? I'm 14 and live in Scotland and I have holes in two of my teeth but my mum will go crazy if I tell her and I really don't want her to know. I don't mind going to the dentist by myself to get them, but people have said she needs to sign a consent form before I can get fillings...could my big brother sign the form? He's 20. I know everyone will say to tell my mum, but honestly, you don't know what she's like, I'll get in so much trouble - she'll stop my allowance and I'll get grounded if she finds out I need fillings :o(

Answers:
i dont understand why she would get so mad about having a cavity, its not your fault. seriously, it all depends on the type of teeth you have. i brush my teeth twice a day, floss, and use mouth wash but i still get cavities every now and then. on the other hand i know people who dont take care of their teeth at all and have never had a cavity.its not your fault and she needs to understand that. and im sure that your brother would be more than happy to help you out, and actually if your mom doesnt help you out that can be child abuse. if she knows that you have a medical problem and is not helping to take care of it she can get in trouble. but, if your brother cant do it (which i think he can) try and get an aunt or an uncle or a grandparent to help you out. but, if you cannot get anyone to help you you need to tell your mom. your gums can get infected if a cavity is left untreated.your teeth will fall out, you can have some serious things go wrong if its not helped. is losing your teeth worth keeping your allowance and a few weeks of not being grounded? im sorry your mother would get mad at you for something you cannot control, but im sure she'll get over it and you need to take care of your teeth.

Other Answers:
Any person over 18 can sign as your guardian, its not checked at the time.

Fillings cant be helped, sometimes it not actually your fault. you should stop eating sweets though!

no I'm not sure as to the particular consent laws in other countries, but here in the U.S., the person signing the consent form has to be a parent or legal guardian. A brother cannot sign for their minor sibling unless they are in fact the legal guardian.
