LA or sedative to remove one bottom wisdom tooth?

Question:
I'm removing an impacted wisdom tooth soon and i was asked if i want to have a partial sedative to make me drowsy or just local anaesthesia. I can't decide which would be necessary whether i should pay extra for a sedative? ..i removed 2 previously on LA

Answers:
Ask the oral surgeon how difficult is the impaction? Also, know your attitude. Are you worried or jumpy in the dental chair? IV sedation will help. Uncomplicated impactions can be done under local. IV only relaxes you. You will still get local only you won't know it. I am a dentist.

Other Answers:
If the tooth is impacted, I would recommend you be put to sleep. Both of my bottom wisdom teeth were impacted and the pain I felt when I woke up was bad. I could not imagine being awake or having a local to get me through that!

Assuming that the wisdom tooth is NOT impacted:

how do you react to pain, to icky sounds? were you bothered by the other surgery?

i would go for the partial sedative, but that is just me.

I had all of my teeth pulled at one time with a local anesthetic in about an hour, at only 22, boy did they want to stay but i honestly only felt a little pulling at the time. ANd it did not hurt bad while i was healing either.
