any u could eat without them? caveman didnt eat sugar so they didnt rot!
not everything makes sense but you wouldnt be able to properly eat if you didn't have teeth
Teeth were originally cleaned by the diet before the introduction of luxury foods, and were also only lasting a maximum of 40-odd years

The introduction of dental hygene only came about relativlgy recently in human history, before that it wasn't looked on as a problem, because everyone had bad teeth
Believe it or not, they wouldn't actually rot if we ate a diet which consisted of only natural products.ie, fruit, veg and water. It's the crap that people eat these days that causes the rotting..if you ate a diet of the above only, you'd only need a tooth pick.
Some history of dental care:

Researchers have found dental floss and toothpick grooves in the teeth of prehistoric humans. Levi Spear Parmly (1790-1859), a New Orleans dentist is credited as being the inventor of modern dental floss (or maybe the term re-inventor would be more accurate). Parmly promoted teeth flossing with a piece of silk thread in 1815.

False teeth date back as far as 700 BC. The Etruscans designed false teeth out of ivory and bone that were secured into the mouth by gold bridgework.

There is historical evidence that the ancient Chinese used acupuncture around 2700 BC to treat the pain associated with tooth decay.

Toothpaste was used as long ago as 500 BC in both China and India;
Imagine trying to eat without them, other than very soft foods that could be easily mushed with the gums.

People are living much longer than they once did.but then we also wash our bodies, and eat/drink various things to 'clean out' our insides.

What's the issue with brushing one's teeth? The human body requires a certain amount of maintenance to stay at it's peak functionality.teeth brushing is just one part of that.
none but we were never made for eating the amount of sugar that we do. if we didnt our teeth wouldnt rot but just sloly wear down over time. Its a great way for basic dating of human remains as if we see large amounts of rot they are after the discovery of america
whats the strongest thing in your body....ofcourse teeth. what happens when you dont eat enough..ofcourse body starts loosing mass, you loose weight and then the bones become weak and then you have a fracture of bone some day. similarly the teeth are there which need to be cleaned so that they dont decay. in the old days when sugar and colas were not available people ate whole grain and no processed food decay was less due to the diet but now diet has changed and hence has the decay increased in those who dont brush...I have some patients who have very little decay due to good habits and good diet and regular checkups
