What is an effective cure for chronic bad breath?

Question:
My wife brushes/flosses regularly and mints-even Altoids-or mouthwashes do not work.

Answers:
There may be so many reasons behind it. The first one may be of dental or gum problem. So you have to consult a Dentist for that. If the problem still persists, find out if the digestion is quite ok if not you have to consult a good Doctor for digestion problem and have to change your food styles. Better exercise is a must for such problems. Get teetch brushed after every meals. Problem may of ENT nature, so you also consult an ENT doctor for his advice. I hope you will get through and will love when your spouse will smile. Never forget God has made us to be happy and healthy so go ahead and win the challenge before you. I hope one day you will write on this forum that you met the challenge and won the proiblem.
Bad breath can be caused by an infected tooth, infected tonsils and surprisingly enough by coating on the tongue. She needs a medical eval and have her brush her tongue when she does her teeth.
If methods such as the ones you listed do not work, I would consider having her checked out by a doctor. Bad breath can be a sign of underlying medical problems if the bad breath doesnt leave after brushing and flossing regularly.
The problem can be traced all the way back to the digestive tract and the liver. She may want to check with a physician for the cause rather than spend money and time trying to offset one of the symptoms.
try some mint leaves or eating apples work real good too and also drinking water.
Try gagrling with salt water.
go to a dentist - does she scrape her tongue? That's the main cause of bad breath. I may be possible that she has gum disease too.
Does she have sinus problems. Drainage can cause some horrible breath. If the dentist cant find the problem, check with your family Dr or an ENT specialist. BTW, Diabetis can give a person a sweet smell to thier breath.
Ok if she having bad breath even though she is brushing and flossing she might not be doing it right or she my have perio disease. If she hasnt been to the dentist in awhile she should go.. She might need a cleaning called Scaling and root planning.its where the numb u and go underneath your gums and clean them.
