Answers:
First Sugar-Free or Not there are acids in all types of foods and none are good for your enamel, the outer covering of your tooth, and could cause decay. Second you breathe in and out more deeply when you are sleeping and the chances that you could choke are even greater than when you are awake, and I know I have come close to choking when I was awake. Please don't do this anymore for your own safety.

dont do this
Not a good idea, you could choke.
well as long as you do not choke on it,you should be ok.
well uhhh choking could be an alarming issue with this habit i would think
yes it is bad, it could get cut up on throat and you would not be able to breath or you spit the gum out and it gets cut on your hair.
Why would anyone purposely sleep with gum in their mouth? When it gets in your hair, peanut butter will get it out.
Sugar free.the worse thing about that would probably be if you choked on it while you were sleeping. It probably still isn't the best thing for your teeth, and I would not recommend it.
It may be sugar free, bu tit does have some sort of sweetener in it that can, over time, have an effect on your teeth. And even if her reasoning for telling you this is not teeth related, maybe she's worried you'll choke on it or get it stuck in your hair. I got gum stuck in my hair when I was little (a few times, actually) and I had to have my hair cut short every time. It sucked.
