which are better and why, invisialign braces or metal braces? getting some soon.?

Question:

Answers:
Depends what you need braces for. If you think about it, the Invisalign would be better because 1. they are more invisible and 2. you can take them out when you need to eat and such. The bad thing is Invisalign can only do so much so if you have just mildly crooked teeth, Invisalign should work really well for you. Any crazy teeth that need pulled down or shifted will probably require metal braces. These have been used longer so the results are always good and consistent. The only thing is they hurt like a mofo and your dental hygiene I guess you could say goes out the window because it's so hard to brush up under the brackets and get all the food out so it's embarrassing when you had food in your teeth or your teeth start decaying. So if you actually do have the choice and both would work in your case according to your orthodontist, go with Invisalign. If not, welcome to the lovely world of metal braces =)

invisalign is better for the obvious reason but takes longer, also when you put adjust them invisalign wont irritate your mouth as badly
I didn't have a choice i have metal ones, so up to the other answers.
I think it really depends on how crooked your teeth are. Whether than deciding now, speak to your orthodontist at your consultation appointment first. He/she will recommend the preferred treatment for your case, and if the doc say it is all to you, then I would recommend Invisalign. Just because they can be removed, making it easier to clean and take pics (no metal in your smile) However, I would also consider the type of person you really are. Are you determined to have your teeth straight? What I mean is, are you going to be consistent in wearing your Invisalign aligners everyday? It only works if you wear them 22 hours a day. I know people who wore them only when they wanted to spent almost 3 years with Invisalign and their results were not very good. I on the other hand, have metal braces (because I know I will be lazy and will not wear those aligners all the time). My metal braces are working out fine and I'll get them off soon after only 18 months.
