i'm sorry to hear that you went through all of that surgery. You're a strong one and you sound like a good patient who is very educated on whats being done to them. You'd be suprised on how clueless most patients are. Anyway, the only way to tell if the graft has taken is with time. The pale pink to almost white tissue could be because the sutures are in there and its pulling the tissue making it look that color. My advice is to keep an eye on it and stay in contact with doc. Grafting usualy takes a while to intergrate so keep your fingers crossed. You may not be completely out of luck yet.
I hope iwantitall is right about things just taking a little longer than usual, but frankly, I am not optimistic. IF you are having trouble healing from bone surgery after taking Fosamax for 4 years, you might just be one of the "lucky ones" who does not heal that well. The half-life of Fosamax in bone is measured in years - not months - so stopping 2 months prior to surgery will not change things much.
