When I am stressed, I put my tongue against the roof of my mouth, making it sore and raw. How can I stop this!

Hey, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who does that!
Try chewing some gum, that should help.
Or suck on a cough drop.
How about thinking of something else to do when you're stressed out? like singing out loud or something like that, or going for a walk. some ppl crack their knuckles, that's irritating too but probably better than killing your tongue. try to calm yourself down, talk to ppl about your problems and don't keep it all pent up inside!

Other Answers:
Put some gum in your mouth and chomp on that instead?
chew gum
Start chewing gum or something to occupy your mouth. I chew the inside of my mouth, but not if I'm chewing gum.
Give your tongue something to do..chew gum, breath mint whatever, up to the individual. You've created a habit which you need to break first, and chances are it won't happen every night.
when your stressed try doing other things.
like chew a piece of gum.

chew gum best way.

Relax, count to ten, and stop rubbing your tounge raw.

Ok go to the root of the problem....STRESS...take a stress releiving youga class or home video ...as for the raw spot...warm salty water to heal ...chew gum to preoccupy your tongue.
