I have Denti-cal and I don't want mercury fillings, what do I do?

Question:
I already had all the mercury fillings taken out of my mouth because I was concerned about my health. I have Denti-cal and I went to a dentist who said I had several cavities and that Denti-cal only covers the mercury fillings. So I didn't have them filled. I can't afford to buy the porcelain ones that I want.

Answers:
There are lot of options in filling materials now . The best and cheapest is Glass ionomer. Light curable composites are also the best. These do not cost as much as porcelein.

Other Answers:
Pay for the difference. Whatever Denti-Cal doesn't cover. Out of pocket.
If you can't afford the plastic (white, AKA composite) fillings now what make you think that you will be able to pay for them when they prematurely fail. The work only gets bigger and worse. FYI Denti-Cal does pay for white fillings at the Amalgam rate. If your dentist doesn't want to place them find someone who will.
