Is there anyone who can answer my question regarding my odd jaw alignment?

Question: I don't know if it's exactly a jaw problem, but I noticed that after I got my braces taken off (I've had them for almost 6 years), my mouth positioning was kind of crooked. I notice in my pictures that when I close my mouth, it's positioned a little to the left instead of the middle. What could've caused this?

Answers:
The braces caused this, or created this, depending on how you want to look at it. It sounds like it was necessary to shift things somewhat off the midline to get your teeth to come together. There is usually some amount of compromise on all ortho treatment and you (the orthodontist) have to decide which battles are more important.

If it is affecting your entire jaw position and this bothers you, take some photos to an orthodontist and ask what might be done about it.
