Question:
Answers:
If you were not prescribed something to dry out your mouth, perhaps you were told to take Benadryl, which is available without a prescription. Benadryl is an antihistamine and one side effect is to dry up your salilva. Dose instructions are on the package. Please note that I am not telling you to take Benadryl, because I am not treating you as a patient. I am merely taking a guess at the name of the pill that you might be trying to remember.

I don't think taking any pills is necessary based on the time they put my braces on and the 3 other times they put on/took brackets off a trouble-some tooth. All they do is stick a plastic mouth opener in your mouth and insert a sucking tube so that the saliva gets picked up and is taken out of your mouth so that it doesn't interfere with the process but of course your ortho guy might be different so if you want the name of a pill I'm sorry to say I don't know of any.
