why are caps stainable?

i broke one front tooth and chipped the second one two summers ago. i was in a golf cart wreck. now that was hilarious. they put caps on them, but they're stainable. why would they make them like that.

Do you mean, "Why can caps pick up stain?" For the same reason teeth can pick up stain. They just do. There is no material that is totally resistant to stain that can be used to make caps.

unforunately Caps are made of Porcelain which can easily stain but it takes time though, that's why your dentist should have picked a lighter shade to start so if it does stain it would then match your normal color.........however you can ask for polishing service for your caps and that would hopefully make a difference
