Chipped front tooth – how much for a repair job in London/or South America?

Question:
Hello all – I am from England but am currently traveling in Bolivia, South America. My tooth is only very slightly chipped on the edge (since Saturday), but of course that’s where the nerve is and as a consequence the nerve is exposed to cold air (which is unpleasant).

So what do I go for? This “composite resin material” http://www.alanframedds.com/procedures_chippedtooth.html
seems really neat, but does anyone know:

a)how long it will last
b)how much it will cost?

And now the big question – WHERE do I get it done?

I am aware that, even in 3rd world countries, one can find great dentists. But, if I want to get a resin-based repair to my tooth, will I really be able to find a dentist who can do that in this country (Bolivia)?

I know it is a real long-shot expecting info on the Bolivan Dental Market, so if anyone knows of any good orthodontists in LONDON that would be great, since I am seriously thinking about going back there this week.

Thanks for reading!
Ben

The best and most permanent solution is crowning the tooth because if you just build it up with resin it will just chip again. Here in the US it's about a 700 dollar job. But of course there is always a difference in price. As far as to where to get it done I'm not sure. I do know that we redo a lot of crowns that didn't work out from Mexico.
First, you really need to see a dentist (been there; done that but BOTH of my front teeth chipped) and it hurts like a mother !!! You didn't mention if you have Dental Insurance & usuall your provider can recommend one that is right for you. A bonding runs about $100 (American) if you have composite done; it's longevity depends on how it is applied. I had my teeth bonded 3 times b4 it took plus I ended up having a surgical root canal because I didn't do my homework properly. Any pals, coworkers, relatives able to refer you? Hell, you could even ask them (if you have no insurance) who their provider is so you can call to find a dentist, or have them call their provider for you. Panama is the only place I know for medical & dental, sorry!!! Most dentists will work w/U as far as money is concerned but I am more concerned that you get this problem fixed. I have had heart surgeries & our teeth affect of health as well our health affecting our teeth. How did U chip it? Mine was from a breathing tube being placed in too roughly but chipped teeth was better than "biting" the dust (sorry I tend to joke alot.....it gets me though). Best of luck, Ben & get some antibiodics (probiotics can be taken with them)& pain meds (even at an E.R.) to keep your health in tact, until the chip can get bonded!Email me if U like!!
