I just got a retainer...?
I sorta talk weird, but will it go away?? I mean I can barley TALK! It sucks!
Why do I have a burnt taste in my mouth?

It will go away. Practice talking. I used to sing the ABC's when I was by myself.

yes, it takes a while to get used to it... it took me like a couple months! the more you wear it the faster it goes away!When I had my retainer, not only was it hard to talk but I had such a gag reflex that I thought I was going to puke at any moment.
Eventually you do get used to it. I think I was talking clearly again with a week or so.
Sometimes when I would get excited and start to talk really fast, I'd just have to take it out until I was finished and then put it back in again, lol.
I know how you freel back in the day when I first got my retainer, I was the same way!! It just takes wearing it and gettng use to that feeling..it will take awhile Unfortunately, but you will learn to speak better and get use to that feeling.
