adults who need braces but had them in teens....?

What they don't tell you is that to keep your teeth straight FOREVER you need to wear a retainer....FOREVER. Of course this might cut into the business of a future orthodontist (um, perhaps the same one??) so they don't tell you.
Welcome to the truth...teeth have a habit of returning to their usual position which is why you need to wear a retainer for a long time if not always after your braces come off. Having teeth pulled allows your other teeth more room to space out and do whatever they want. And they do. They shift and rotate every which way which is why one would usually get a spacer put in or a fake tooth wherever one is pulled....can't do that with wisdom however but at this point you will have to get braces again to correct the problem.
I'm not sure but I think after a while the retainer can be used at night only...which isn't a bad deal for keeping teeth straight. Price to pay for everything isn't there?

You probably stopped wearing your retainer, huh? Your retainer is the only thing the can prevent your teeth from moving. You will most likely have to get braces on again If you want your teeth to look like they did when you first got your braces removed. Sorry.
yeah, retainer is the problem...when you had braces, the teeth were just forced into an un-natural position for them and they want to revert back to the way they were.
you could probably look into something less drastic than full braces if you want to straighten them out again...have you ever heard of the invisalign system or anything like that? http://www.invisalign.com/generalapp/us/en/index.jsp
well this happens to a lot of adults, especially if you have a tooth pulled..it's normal..yes you can and probably should get braces again, if you want that perfect smile back. same thing happened to me..although not so bad, they just shifted a bit. I've personally been thinking about getting braces again.
