i am getting an imprression for invisalign and i am nervous of it gagging me...can you tell me if impressions gag you?

yes it will make you gag, that goop oozes out the back right where it will bug you the most but after it starts to set it's not so bad, it won't be for very long, I thought the upper was worse than the lower

It wasn't that bad. I was worried that I would gag too, didn't.

The upper does suck more, than the lower. Mine did't ooze out, it pretty much stayed in place. They don't have to stay in very long either.

Think of your final result. It will be worth it.

depends on your gag reflex... everyone is different.. normally, it only takes about 5 minutes (tell the assistant to use warmer water.. it'll make it set faster) breathe through you nose the whole time.. the lower is easy.. the upper is a little worse.... I have taken about 500 impressions within the time I have worked for a DDS and only made about 3 people gag.. and thats only because of their gag reflex... trust me just breathe through your nose and keep your eyes closed and youll be fine... tell them to start w/ the lower, and if you gag, they have a topical spray they use to numb the back of your throat.. that'll take care of it... don't worry, you'll be fine
