What does this mean about my retainer?

Question: I went in yesterday, got my retainer. Still need one for my top teeth,orthodontist said my teeth are so in position because of the length I had my braces on that they're "not going anywhere" and I even have two weeks of not having a top retainer until they make it. They original one for me no longer fit.

Does this mean I'll only have to wear my retainer all day for a little while longer before I only have to wear them to bed?

I wear my retainer faithfully, even though i'm sore. Also, both are removable. What are the differences between a permanent and removeable retainer other than the obvious ones?

Probably.

I am not a big fan of the permanent retainers, because it's even harder to floss when you have one of them than it is with braces on your teeth.
