Generally, how long does a cavitiy filling last?

Question:

Answers:
"Generally," I like to see 20-25 years service, but we sometimes see more. I've been in practice 30 years and I am JUST now starting to see some failures that are attributable to material failure of the fillings.

It's often the tooth that breaks, though, or gets new decay.
i have a few that are almost 40 years old.
depends on how well you brush your teeth
I had one that crumbled apart less then two years old. Ticked me off it was good money paid for that filling!
Dang gone quack! All of what that guy did came apart..Couple thousand bucks down the drain..
