Dental Question?

Question:
I had a filling installed in my tooth last week and now, since then the damn tooth has been killing me. Especially if I eat something cold, I just wanna hit the ground it hurts so bad. Is this normal or will it get better? Also can it be home treated?

Answers:
It could be a number of things. I'm thinking that the filling may be too tall. Go in & have them check your bite and if it is tall that they can fix that it five minutes. It could also be that the cavity that you had could have been very close to the nerve of the tooth and it is now dying. Either way, call the dental office & make an appointment to have it looked at because there is no way to take care of it at home. Good luck!

Other Answers:
Go back to your dentist immediately. It is not normal at all.

No, it's not at all normal and a home treatment won't help. Go back to your dentist. it's not normal and you should go to another dentist for their opinion. the one you went to for the filling will probably say nothing is wrong because he doesn't want to admit that it was done incorrectly

I have never had this problem with a filling, sounds like the filling is close to the nerve, you need to go back to the dentist and let him or her know that you are having problems. If it don't get better I would just have it pulled..

Go back to your doctor.. He may have not place enough lining material under the filling to help reduce sensitivity. He can fix it up for you. The worst thing you can do is give up and have your tooth extracted. He can find a way to help stop the sensitivity while allowing you to keep your teeth.
