Have questions about braces?

Question:
Let me just clear this up with all of you who are worried about braces.

Braces will hurt the first few days, but after a week or so, you should feel not as much pain.
I never used pain killers when I had braces because I'm just not up to taking medicine for your mouth, but when you do, the best kind I've heard is TYLENOL.
When it comes to foods, you should eat soft foods when you can, but I just ate whatever. You shouldn't eat hard foods right away because then it might cause damage to your new braces. And gum. They all say don't chew it, but it doesn't get stuck half the time! So chew your gum, but not a lot :).

And spacers. Spacers will hurt REAL bad when you get them, but once you have them for a couple weeks, you won't feel bad pain!

Hopefully, I answered all your questions, if not let me know.

Answers:
My dentist told me to take Advil. it helps with the inflammation that goes on in the gums & around the roots of the teeth as they move.
I have invisalign which is different than you have, & my dentist told me to take Advil at night when I change my braces. so I would recommend taking Advil on the day that you go to get braces tightened.even take it an hour or 2 before you get to the orthodontist's office so it starts to kick in.
