Would it be a problem?

Question: Well...i've been wearing braces for the past nine years...there ain't a good dentist at my place....(the previous guy was using dirty water during checkup...so I stopped visiting him).....I badly want these braces to be removed asap....my friend throws a scare saying that my teeth would've been badly affected by now....is that true?Would it be a problem?

it depends what braces tell me then ill edit my anwser for you. if there tracks then i strongly recomend you remove them or go back to ur your original dentist this could be a matter of life or death.

Why would you leave them on for 9 years? Go to any dentist and I am sure they will take them off for you if you don't want to wear them anymore and are not interested in completing your treatment. Braces make teeth much harder to keep clean and I would hate to think what condition you teeth are in, get them off asap.

ya 9 years is too long..you should have consulted an orthodontist before itself.....it may also loosen your periodontium..
