I got my wisdom tooth out 1 week ago. Can I drink alcohol?

Question:
Granted it was a difficult extraction and I am still getting treatments for my damaged nerves in my jaw. My doc has been injecting my mouth with shots of pain medicine every other day to numb my nerves. I have been through hell and back this week and I would like a glass of wine. Will this wash away the medicine?

Answers:
I think as long as you're not bleeding, you should be ok. (Alcohol thins your blood, so don't get drunk if you're bleeding or you'll bleed more.)

Other Answers:
Sure, you *can* drink alcohol. But if you are any medication, you should speak with your doctor as it may not react well with it. . .

Why don't you call your doctor and ask him?
He knows exactly what are the effects of alcohol on the medicines he prescribed to you.

if you are under medication you shouldnot drink wine I had my wisdom teeth extracted a little over a year and I went through pure hell! If you are on an antibiotic DO NOT DRINK! Alcohol will interfere with the antibiotic working. If you are on any sort of an oral pain medication DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING ALCOHOLIC, if you do this can cause severe illness and severe drowsiness. If you don't get the answers you need here call your dentist. Good Luck!

If you are not drinking any pain killers go for it but if you are becarefull.
