How can I prevent cavities? I brush my teeth everyday but I still get cavities.?

I have very bad cavaties that are breaking off, exposing the nerve. Dentist isnt an option what can I do 4 pain

Answers:
Brush your teeth twice a day and floss! Flossing removes a lot of that nasty stuff that causes cavities. If you don't like string floss, try flossers. They are much easier to use in my opinion. Make sure you are using a good toothpaste with fluoride. Stay away from sugary foods and drinks. Visit your dentist regularly and have your teeth cleaned by a hygienist. He/she can show you more effective ways to brush your teeth to help fight off those cavities.

If a person drinks alot of sodas or eats alot of candy, then they are feeding the bacteria in their mouth and the acid that those bacteria produce can decay teeth. Also, if a person has alot of acidic foods or have acid reflux, they are more likely to get decay. You would really need to give me more details about your health and your daily habits to really tell you why you are getting decay.

Get one of those fancy toothbrushes that you press the button and it scrubs your teeth for you- you need to scrub your teeth for 2 minutes both in the morning and at night. Floss floss floss, it pulls the hidden pieces of food stuck between your teeth that cause the cavities. Use an all purpose tooth paste like crest.
cut down on soda pop, go see your dentist regularly too!

My Porcelain Fused to Noble Metal Dental Crown chipped and I was told by my dentist this is OK is this true?

Tooth decay is frustrating but usually very preventable. The following things need to be done or avoided..

1. Avoid excessive exposure to sugar containing foods or snacks.
2. Limit exposure to soft drinks. Even sugar-free carbonated soft drinks are very acidic and harm the enamel coating on the teeth.
3. Brush for at least 2 minutes twice per day. Floss daily.
4. Use a fluoride mouthrinse (Act, etc.)
5. Get a good dental examination with xrays at least one time per year. Twice is better.
6. Get all your cavities restored, not just "the worst ones".

Even when you do everything right, you may simply have a high decay index due to poor hereditiy. You can't fight genetics.

How do you use a Sonicare toothbrush behind the front lower teeth?

1. Make sure you are brushing your teeth properly. A good brushing should take at least 2-3 minutes. Place the brush agains the surface of the tooth so the bristles go up against the gum line. Use a small circular motion. Repeat for each tooth.
2. Brush more often.
3. When you can't get to a toothbrush, make sure to at least rinse your mouth with clear water after eating
4. Floss. When you floss, the floss should make a "c" shape around the side of one tooth and then the other. Slide the floss down to reach a bit below the gum line.
5. Talk to your dentist about flouride treatments. There is a prescription gel that you can put on before bed called Pervident.
6. Do not suck sugary candies during the day. The sugar feeds the bacteria who make cavities.
