How do I get my teeth whiter?

no pain with fillings i've had lots of them. The drilling is nerve racking to me. It makes me so irritated but no pain

At what age in history did dentists start pulling wisdom teeth as a common practice?

wow yes - you sound really nervous with the questions you ask.
i had the same thing going.nowadays i do a lot of meditation and looked for a truthworthy dentist and i actually began to fall asleep during the appointment. strange, huh? but really: meditation helps a lot!
otherwise: you are called the cure: everything is going to be just fine!

if you are scared of the noise of the drilling take an mp3 player with you - it helped me coping with the wisomteeth operation (verry vrery ugly noises i could luckiely hardly hear.)

is it true that the natural colour of your teeth are the same colour as your eyes?

First they numb you with a q tip so that you don't feel the injection and if it is done right .it doesn't hurt at all. I think you will live to walk out and see the sunshine. I will pray for you..

Other than toothpaste and mouthwash, mints. are there any other ways to help with bad breath caused by sinus

it's the cleaning process before that can hurt ! I'd ask for a sedative or laughing gas ( needles are my last resort ) although, it's better than hittin' the ceiling !

what's the best way to stop a horrible tooth ache when u cant get to the dentist anytime soon?

not to bad if they numb it right may i suggest asking for laughing gas it cost a little more but well worth it you wont feel a thing and if you do youll think its funny :) i use it every tooth trip :)

What are the differences between Invisalign and Metal Braces?

The only pain you'll feel getting a filling is paying the bill afterwards.LOL

i need some advice please.?

No. it doesn't hurt, but I must have went to a bad dentist because my filling kept falling out, and everytime I got one, it made the hole in my tooth bigger. Now, I only have half a tooth left and my nerves are visible so when I eats sweets it hurts really bad. So make sure your dentist knows what he's doing.

What exactly is a root canal? Does it hurt?

It will hurt if the doctor touches the nerv, but only after the anestethyc stops working.

How long will it take to my first pair of braces on? How many visits to the dentist/orthodontic? COST?

My daughter who is 14, is really really scared of the dentists.
one thing that scares her the most would be the sound of the drill etc.
i found if she closes her eyes and puts on her MP3 player load, she doesn't;t worry as much.
Try it and see how you go.
It;s only the noise that everyone hates.

What do I ask the dentist to do to my teeth?

The needle stings a little, but then your whole mouth goes to sleep and you can't feel a thing. And when it thaws, I never had any real pain either.

You may be able to find a dentist that actually puts you to sleep for the procedure - but this can be expensive and of course there are risks about being anesthetized too. I suggest if this is your first time you just go and see how much you can take. It's not a pleasant experience, but it's less stressful than some other medical procedures and it is a part of life.

Good luck, be brave, and TELL the dentist that you're nervous!

Oh and don't drink alcohol to try to relax before the appt, it will make you bleed more and is dangerous.

How soon will my teeth start shifting after I got my braces off and I don't have my retainer in?

All he/she will do is use a q-tip dipped in novocaine or some other medicine that will numb your gum (some dentist use a shot to do the same reason - to numb your gum), and you won't feel a thing. I've had this done, and it didn't even hurt.
If you are nervous during the dental work, take an mp3 player (or an Ipod, walkman, or some other player) with earphones with you so you can focus and enjoy the music, while the dentist focus on your teeth. It will help you to relax too. :)
You'll be fine..don't worry.
