I had a tooth pulled the other and have a couple of questions?
I had it pulled 2 days ago and my mouth is still really swolen. Also, my neck is very stiff and painful and my head is slightly throbbing. Is all of that normal when you get a tooth pulled?
People who have had a Rapid Palatal Expander?
Answers:
there has been trauma to the tooth because of pulling. it is very normal. the nerves r still open and the pain in your neck and head r from the trauma of the doctor pulling your tooth out. especially if it was hard to take out. the stiffness and throbbing can also b a result of the anesthesia. it may take a full week b4 the pain is completely gone. after that, u should contact your doctor. make sure u follow his complete instructions. no drinking through a straw, no smoking, luke warm fluids, no spitting, soft foods and plenty of rest. hope this helps. get better.

My jaw cracks but I haven't been diagnosed with TMJ.?
yes, i had my wisdom teet pulled and my mouth was swollen for about 5 days. the stiff neck is probably because you're afraid to move your head too much and are therefore having neck pain. take aspirin if it really hurts and drink lots of water to prevent infection where the tooth was pulled
Where was the tooth pulled? (towards the back?) Was it infected before they pulled it? How much novocaine was used? All of these can be factors as to why your tooth hurts. I personally have a hard time with novocaine and therefore can be in pain for up to 5 days afterwards.
Provide more info and maybe we can help you further.
no it is very dangerous and you need to go through the Dr and let him/her knows
Wisdom tooth extraction question.?
yes to a certain ascent. but i would stronly recommend excedrine for mingraines. they work mircles. good luck and i hope u feel better.
your best bet is to go back to the doctor to check it out. I'm a dental assistant and deal with this a lot. You may have a condition called a dry socket. Its when the blood clot becomes disloged from the socket and a secondary infection forms. This can be verrrry painful. The stiff neck is what makes me think that you may have one. Treatment is usualy antibiotics and a very yucky tasting paste put at the extraction site. It tastes and smells horrible but its better than dealing with the pain
Crest Vivid White vs. Crest Vivid White Night--which one works better?
Personally, take your temperature, take Tylenol for pain and be sure you are hydrated well. Since it's been 2 days apply heat to the area. If you do not improve by tomorrow, call your dentist and he may put you on antibiotics and a stronger pain reliever. I hope you feel better soon.

If you had a lot of novacaine injected then your neck might get like that....your mouth will be really swollen also....when I got a cavity filled my neck and mouth were in so much pain...I had a headache for a day also....If the pain continues for like a week you might wanna go to the doctor.....my cousin got mono becasue of an infected needle...but I wouldnt worry so much cases like that are rare....^_^..um I hope that answers your question!
i have a sore on my tong what is it?
Sounds like you might have a dry socket, better call your dentist, infection will set in. Take a Advil, or Ibuprofen, some type of aspirin until you see the dentist. Will help with the pain. Don't put off seeing the dentist though......
Report your symptoms to your dentist to be on the safe side. For swelling and pain, my dentist had me wet a tea bag and place on the area. The tannic acid in the tea is the active ingredient. I looked a little silly with the string hanging from my mouth, but it really worked! Give it a try. And feel better.
what is trial smile or snap on veneers?
I agree with iwantitall420. I, too, was a dental assistant. The stuff they put in your socket is sort of gross, but many patients feel instant relief. I think the thing that concerns me is the stiff neck. Just in case it's something more serious (it probably isn't), make an appointment as soon as you can.
I recently had two teeth pulled and my jaw and neck were sore for over a week. That's not to mention the pain at the actual extraction site. Remember that your teeth are made to stay inside your mouth and pulling them out is a foreign and rough procedure. Stick with over-the-counter anti-inflammatories (the nausea and weakness that can be associated with prescription pain killers can be worse that the pain they're supposed to be treating!) and ice packs on your cheek. Also, a strange thing that works well is to drink tea (luke warm or cool is fine, but hot or iced can be painful). Something in the tea reduces the swelling and relieves pain.
Good luck. "This, too, shall pass."
What is the best tooth whitener on the market. Name the quickest time, best effect, etc.?
Ok, I dont know what 12 w w is talking about, but it is normal to have the swelling. As for the still neck, I have personally never had a patient tell me that, so I recommend calling the dentist and telling him your symptoms.. I dont know what tooth number or how complicated an extraction it was (did he use a drill or just hand instruments alone?) but all of this could be a result of a very difficult extraction.
how do u know if a dentist is lying that u need braces?
Omg. i had 4 teeth pulled in the same hour! I thought i was gonna die I would not stop bleeding. everything is normal but a stiff neck?
don't think it's normal. talk to your dentist stat

I guess it depends upon whether you are:
girl
level of pain threshhold
how healthy you are
Though i never had pain to the severity you are having it.You know it can't hurt to have him check you out.
God Bless
that sounds like a little much to me, i'd check with the dentist.
Whats the kind of toothpaste you use?
No. none of that is normal. Swelling and a stiff painful neck could be a sign of infection.
I've had a tooth pulled before as well as four wisdom teeth removed. I had a dry socket, but no swelling or major pain.
I would contact your dentist as soon as you can. You may need an anitbiotic. If need be, contact your dr.
I had 13 pulled and didn't have any of those symptoms. You may want to check with your dentist to make sure nothing funky is going on.
