What can I say to get my husband to the dentist?
His teeth are nasty! He hasn't been to the dentist in years (I think he's afraid) But honestly, it's affecting the way I feel about him. I know that's terrible, but his breath stinks and it makes him look unattractive. What can I do? He works a TON and says he's too busy, etc. Any suggestions? I've been pestering him for years.
Where you can get help with $$ to fix teeth?

Been there! It took me years to get my man to the dentist. I even told him it affected my desire for him, and that didn't seem to make much difference. Maybe I should have backed that up by refusing to kiss him.. What finally got him there was an abcessed tooth. Then he had no choice. Once he went to have that taken care of, it still took a couple more years before he started going regularly.
You might try making appointments for both of you at the same time.
Good luck!
refuse to kiss him, deny affection and tell him it's really affecting your life - hopefully he'll go for your sake if not his
My x had that. We didnt divorce because of that, found out he was gay.
Well, got that out. lol
I was in the medica field for over 30 years. Let your husband know if he has a bad infection it could go to the brain if untreated.
Dental hygiene is very important. I had one patient that put off going to the dr, eventually found out he had a abcess and it went to his brain. God rest his soul. He was only 27.

Have you told him how you feel?? You should!
When we go the dentist, what exactly is "Deep Cleaning"?
i think what you have to do is make the appointment for him.. then he has to go :)
I am 15 and I have braces. What is the best way to keep my teeth clean with them on?
Did you tell him all this? Does he know you think it's nasty? Threaten to cut him off from sex and see what he says.
well dont kiss him and tell him there will be no lovin' to he goes to the dentist. lol.
Make an appointment and take him. If that doesn't work ask him if he has a problem with going to the dentist. If he says yes than tell him how concerned you are for his health. A bad tooth infection untreated can lead to death.
what are the advantages and disadvantages of getting your wisdom teeth out?
Print all the answers you will receive and show him! Ugly teeth and bad breath are a bad combo, get yourself to a dentist QUICK!
Registered Nurse Here; Think you hit the nail on the head, he's "Afraid", however considering the way you explained his dental situation. Here is what he has to look forward to; Untreated cavities, do and well eventually lead to dental abscess, which then requires an oral surgeon. Dentures, or least some type of replacement prosthesis. Plus if his oral hygiene is suffering to the point you detailed, you could even catch what is called "Necrosing Ulcertive Gingivitis.", meaning, your gums would swell, and bleed, due to a virus you gotten from him, as a carrier. Finally, after sharing all this with your husband, just tell him, it is no longer negotiable. His dental hygiene has reached a critical unacceptable level for you.
I had an impacted wisdom tooth pulled and three teeth bedise it filled, should it still hurt?
hide his toothbrush and tell him that he will get a new free one when he goes to the dentist. haha. i know that is dumb. seriously though- let him know how it is affecting how you feel about him. If you married him, it means that you love him and that you can talk to him about these things. Does he go to the doctor? If he does, have his doctor talk to him about going. You might also want to find out why he is so afraid to go. Maybe he had a traumatizing experience as a child (or as an adult). If that is the case, tell him you will find a place that has conscious sedation or that you can set up a meeting with the dentist first- just to talk to him and make a second appointment to actually do the work. Good luck.
What does relining a denture do?
Say, "No!" ----You know what to!
Seriously though, he is probably scared; perhaps he had a bad (painful) experience as a child. Nagging won't work.
Do you have a kind, gentle dentist? Some dentists are more gentle than others, so you should ask around. If you know someone who falls asleep in the chair without the help of medication, get that dentist's name.
Explain to him that dentistry has changed. Tell that modern dental equipment has made dentistry quite 'comfortable' for people. (Try not to use the word "pain" at any time.) He can be given a pill to help him relax before he goes for a check up. If he needs extensive work, and it sounds like he does, he can literally sleep though it all thanks to light anaesthesia such as "twilight sleep."
Try taking him with you when you go for your check-up, but don't take him with you for actual treatment unless it's something quick and easy. Do you have kids who are good at the dentist's? If so, take him along, too.
If all else fails, wait 'til all his teeth fall out, and he has nice clean dentures.
What are some remedies for an extremely painful toothache? I can't sleep, Vicodin doesn't help!?
Just tell him the same stuff that you told us. Ask him how he would feel about it if YOU had nasty teeth and stinky breath.
