tongue thrust spikes, what are they and how they look?

I will be getting this devise for my thrusting tongue problems so I my orthodontic work would last.

I just had all of my wisdom teeth removed. Are the stitches they put in going to dissolve or what?

Answers:
I almost agree with Dr. Sam. The appliance that he has shown is a tongue appliance which keeps the tongue from pushing on the front teeth. The metal "crib" is meant to stop the tongue from being able to put pressure on the front teeth when you swallow. Tongue thrust spikes are similar, but they are not round like the appliance shown, they are pointed. They perform the same function which is to prevent the tongue from pushing the front teeth forward.

This question is for dentists-I know SOOOO many people who are in dental pain or are losing their teeth becaus
