I agree with the above posters - if you are an adult and do have thrush you may want to be have some bloodwork done - i think it is more common in adults with compromised immune systems. it is, however, more common in infants. you can use gentian violet on thrush. gentian violet is available at pharmacies (may have to ask the pharmacist) - you put a small amount on a qtip and apply it to the affected areas in your mouth. don't do it when you have anywhere to be because it is very very purple and will stain your mouth for awhile. you can also use acidophilis to treat thrush.

It looks like dried milk on the tongue, but doesn't wash off.
