It definitely could be TMJ. I have TMJ really bad (I'm grinding my teeth away to nothingness) but I don't really had the clicking of the jaw thing. At least I don't think.
The best way to find out is to go to a doctor. The first time I went I thought I had an ear infection and what do you know it was TMJ- something I've never heard of. When you go to the doctor there's always a chance it'll be something you've never heard of but either way he'll figure it out and tell you hot to fix it.
Is there a dentist in Overland Park that will do a payment plan or is inexpensive?
When that happened to me , it was TMJ.

* Sore jaw muscles
* Temple/cheek pain
* Jaw popping/clicking
* Locking of the jaw
* Difficulty in opening the mouth fully
* Frequent head/neck aches

How come some people get cavities and some people don't.?
it probably is TMJ. this causes a popping in the jaw and its annoying as hell (i have it too). i went to an oral surgeon and they confirmed it when i was younger...as i got older it went away and i dont experience the popping as much as i used to (maybe i grew into my joint). but thats what it sounds like to me.
Oh my Gosh!! I have had that exact same problem for years - after a car accident. I went to have it checked out as TMJ and they could not find a problem. It's a joint issue - maybe the precursor to arthritis.
I have had this happen on and off for years and it has not gotten worse or anything. I'm used to it, so have learned to ignore it.
The doctors could not do anything about it.
Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD), sometimes referred to as myofacial pain dysfunction or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome, disorder involving the muscles of the jaw used for chewing (masticatory muscles) and/or the temporomandibular joint, which connects the lower jaw to the skull.
But that used to happen to me every once in a while. do you get like a head rush sometimes,like black dots in your eyes? that would happen to me, but mine just went a way after a few days.
go see your dentist he can make you a mouth guard that will help
Will somebody answer this question~PLEASE?
It could possibly be TMJ. The only true way to know is to see your doctor. My boyfriend has TMJ and has had it his whole life. You can hear him open and close his mouth from across the room. Every once in a while his jaw will kinda lock up and he will have to pop it back in place... it's sad. If you have TMJ you should get it fixed asap. I also know a woman that got TMJ so bad she had to go to a physical therapist in order to get her mouth to open back up... she could only open it about 3/4 of an inch when she started therapy... Some TMJ isn't bad (my boyfriend) while others can definantly mess with you. Get it checked... good lucK!
The popping is a classic sign of TMJ
talk to your Dentist- if you are having a lot of pain then you can get a night guard to wear that helps.
Where can I find the best medical and dental plans?
Sounds like TMJ to me. If you hear a popping each time you open your mouth, that's rather serious. Mine will only do so if I open my moputh wide or chew on on something hard. Go see an orthodontist. You may need to wear a splint to correct your jaw alignment.
you need to see a Dentist for verification
why is my throat itchy like i wanna scrath it with my tounge but it doesnt work?
I have TMJ and just get it checked out, my braces are helping mine and my dentist said the getting your wisdom teeth pulled, braces, or a rubber mouth guard will help so braces are on the right track for me. Trust me braces do help it I feel your pain.
