Answers:
Wisdom teeth are third molars that usually appear between the ages of 18 and 20 (although they may appear when older, younger, or may not appear at all). Often they need to be removed when they impact against other teeth—colloquially known as "coming in sideways."
Wisdom teeth are often described as an example of a "vestigial" trait. Some argue that recent changes to softer diets which cause less wear on the teeth may be causing the third molars to be less useful, and, in fact, problematic in many humans. Alternately, it is possible that wisdom teeth were useful when it was common for humans to lose several teeth to decay by the age when they appear.
Although most people have four wisdom teeth, it is possible to have more or fewer. Absence of one or more wisdom teeth is an example of hypodontia. Any extra teeth are referred to as Supernumerary teeth

Wisdom teeth are teeth that usually don't come out until at least 18 years of life. Some people later then that...They do nothing. They are teeth WAY in the back of your mouth that are connected to your jaw bone. They usually hurt when they are growing out and most of the time need to be removed b/c there are no space for them to grow. Most of the time they get impacted and are laying sideways against the other teeth and causes the other teeth to move and become crooked. The reason you have them is b/c of nature...back in the day before dentist and toothbrush were invented and stuff, people's teeth rotted out and they didn't have any good teeth to eat with...then when their strong wisdom teeth grew from their jaw bone, they were able to eat with those. You get them removed at anytime after they've developed around age 18 or higher.
Wisdom teeth are useless. They are the very last molar at the back of your mouth. Sometimes they don't come thru, but if they start to poke thru... tada they are impacted! Your dentist will tell you when to get them removed. But usually between they ages of 16-21, is when most people have them out. It is best to get them removed. As they grow in, they will push all your other teeth and it will become verryyy painful. Good Luck.. Definatley plan to have them taken out at a time when you can miss school or work. Some people bounce back the next day, some a week.
