Can you tell by looking when you have dry socket?

Question:
I had some food stuck in my wisdom tooth hole, or so I thought, and flushed it out because it was painful. I didn't just flush out a blood clot did I? I can't see anything in my tooth holes.. should I be able to see something there to indicate that a clot has formed?

Answers:
No but you can definately feel it. Dry socket will throb.that's how you kow when you have it.
If you have dry socket you'll feel it, it'll hurt ALOT. If the dental procedure is new, you may have washed away the clot but all you have to do is, if you have anymore gauze, put a little piece back in your mouth for a little bit and just let it clot again, that is if its even bleeding, if not, your fine if you rinsed gently to keep it clean.
You will feel it before you see it.
