Over the counter medicine:
Orajel, Anbesol
Anbesol, its a light version of novacaine. However this does not cure your problem. I would suggest making an appointment with your dentist because it could be a serious problem.
I use baby orajel.it works, and it's not as.."harsh." tasting or feeling.
WHISKEY
ice
lrotab 7.5. the only thing that works, trust me!
If it is not super bad try extra strengh ambesol
Get to the dentist and have the tooth pulled or filled.
In the meantime, get some cotton gauze and something alcoholic. (It helps if it's something that tastes good.) Soak the gauze in the alcohol, and pack the gauze around the tooth that hurts. It'll take away a lot of the pain.
Best wishes and God bless.
oragel
sensodyne toothpaste

me too
cloves-make a paste with ground cloves and water cover the tooth.
Oragel works great but going to the dentest and making sure there is nothing wrong would help alot too.
I would try washing out my mouth with salt & warm to hot water , then after brushing also use listerine, and try baby oral gel rub on gums and get to a dentist if it does not stop.

my own personal advice
Oil of cloves really seems to work.

It depends on what kind of toothache you are having! If it is due to an infection, you will need to see a dentist ASAP because you need antibiotics and treatment. You will know it is an infection because it will be a throbbing pain and usually there is swelling also. Until you can get into a dentist (if it is really bad go to the ER) you can take Ibuprofen (Advil) because this will reduce swelling and relieve some of the pain. Don't take aspirin or Tylenol as these don't reduce swelling. If it is an infection these over the counter medications probably wont take away all the pain, that is why you need to see a dentist!
If it is sensitive to cold then try sensitivity toothpaste. This is also helpful for teeth that are sensitive when you brush them.
If you want to add in what type of toothache you are having, we may be able to help more.
