My main suggestion would be to brush and floss really really well. If you let food sit on your teeth it will turn to plaque, and it will begin to soften your enamel. The plaque can cause white spots to appear on your teeth and those spots will not ever go away. Holes can even form in your teeth from not brushing properly. Your braces make it a little tougher to brush and floss so you have to put some extra effort into it to make sure your getting every bit of your teeth clean. As far as your expander, make sure you do your turns when your supposed to and keep food out from in between the expander and the roof of your mouth. You don't want bad breath or to irritate your tissue!! As far as getting them on, it will be very easy!! And don't eat anything chewy, sticky, or crunchy. Things will break and that just keeps you in braces longer than necessary. Good Luck!

Okay, expanders SUCK , they hurt really bad soo the next day like when u wake up ur teeth are gonna hurt really, bad stay away from hard foods dont chew gum until after ur used of ur braces, ( i hope u dont have to wear braces that long, i had to for 5 years and im still wearin a retainer, good luck ..
Start drinking heavily!
i had braces for 2.5 yrs and an expander. the expander will cause a huge gap in your 2 front teeth, but dont freak out, once you get it removed your braces will close the gap. make sure to rinse your mouth out after you eat because you'll get food stuck in your pallet cause of the expander and its really gross. they tell you a list of food you cant eat, but dont listen to them. chewing gum is fine as long as its sugarless and dont eat ice. when you get your braces off make sure you wear your retainer! i lost mine twice and now my bottom teeth have moved:(
