Orthodontic Assistants Or Orthodintists?

Question: How much do you make an hour and how long have you worked for that office? What state are you in?? Or if you're an Orthodontist how much do you pay your girls and how long have they worked for you? What different things do you base pay increases on?

Answers:
15 years, in Arizona.....$24. I did most everything. Dr just got all the money. Not great benefits either. Went to 2yr of college for that. Pay only went up about $1 yr. Now I can start at about $15, and still do the same thing.

I was an ortho assistant about 8 years ago and only made about $10.00. Sucked huh? I only had about 2 years experience though. I am a dental assistant now and I do just about everything in my office: order the supplies, schedule the implants, order the implants and parts, schedule and coordinate the surgeries, and the list goes on and on, but I only make $15.00 an hour. Way less than I feel I should, but the job is convenient for me and my family so what do you do?
