Have you ever had a surgical root canal?

I'm TERRIFIED of the dentist, and I need one, and I'm sooo freaked out to get the work done that I need done. Is it as bad as I'm fearing? All those sharp metal things I can't see going into a sensitive place...ahhhh!

I had a root canal a couple of years ago and I was absolutely terrified to have it done. To be honest, the worst part was getting the numbing shot. It took 2.5 hours to have the procedure done - I was tired of lying back with my mouth open, but overall it really wasn't bad. I had no pain whatsoever afterwards. I had been in so much pain before from the infected tooth, that having the root canal completed was a huge relief! It's not going to be as bad as you think. Waiting and worrying is always the worst part. Good luck!!

i had one done when i was 11 and it wasnt too bad they only bad thing about it was keeping my mouth open for 2 hours ! you well be fine! dont worry about it .
