Post-Wisdom Teeh Removal?
Question:
Answers:
You can start chewing now. As for the straw, I called my dentist and asked this question today. I had mine removed last monday, so I was really wondering, too. They said 10 days after removal.
Don't suck on anything and extract anything large out of the hole (hamburger meat, french fry, whatever). At about a week they give you this cool little syringe thing to stick in there and irrigate the junk out...weird, I know.

you should be able to use a straw here soon just make sure that the hole is closed up same with eating it will take a little longer but u will be able to do it soon.
Do not use a straw for at least 2 or 3 weeks while it heals, you don't want to get dry sockets! You can chew food as soon as it's comfortable for you, it took me about 3 days.
I had to give myself a full week to recover. When you are almost at a week, you will be frustrated, but POOF! like that, one day you are all better. Make sure they give you a squirter to clean out your holes.
give a straw at least 3 weeks. solid food is ok in a few days, just go for softer to begin with. if you have stitches, when they take them out, that's a good time to begin more solid foods. if no stitches, figure about a week.
a sraw im not sure about but normal food it depends on how you feel i was able to eat real food the next day
I've had all of my wisdom teeth out, and I don't think it was ever a problem using a straw. However, I remember going for about 2 weeks before I could eat properly again. I ate alot of pancakes with butter and syrup (your tongue can mush it up enough to swallow), and I sucked gravy, melted cheese, and ketchup off of french fries.
Good luck!
i had my wisdom teeth pulled out on august 3rd too and i was eating solid food the next day, but i only had 2 removed, i had the 1st 2 a few months earlier. wait a little over a week to use a straw
if it is completely healed, so you wont irritate your gums
You can drink through a straw 24 hours after surgery. You're great on the straw thing. As far as eating, I got all 4 of mine out too, and I couldn't eat solid food for about 6 to 7 days until the swelling went down some and I could open and close my mouth. It's all up to you as the whether you think you're ready to eat solids or not. If it hurts, stop, if not, you're all good. The more chewing, the better, work them jaw bones again! Chewing chewing gum is good for it too.
