My dentist wants to charge $1200.00, even w/insurance, to replace a crown and fix a cavity, is that too much?
Question:
Answers:
Yes it is too much, I worked for a dentist and a gold crown was 895. It is outrageous, shop around. If your insurance is participating, normally they would pay half. If you're going to pay full price shop around and go to another office!

Depends on how much your insurance covers. If you have crappy insurance then no its not too much. call the insurance company and see who they recommend.and yes thats way to much.
yes that is too much! there should be other dentist in your surrounding city that will charge less and/or accept your insurance. call and check other places before u go for that dentist, unless u really need to go asap.
Go see another dentist, this is way too expensive.
It's entirely too much if that includes what the insurance covers. that's prob more than it would be without insurance. maybe check with your insurance to see about out of network dentists. it might be worth it to see an out of network provider. good luck from a girl that gets lots of teeth work!! aht seems way too high.when I got my crown it was less than 500.00 and a cavity even a two surface filling is only a little over 100 dollars. You are being overcharged. At this point, you would be better off going to another dentist, even if they don't accept your insurance as it will likely still be cheaper.
