I have had my tooth pulled about 4 days ago, and I am in severe pain now more than the day after.?

Question:
I can see my wisdom tooth from the exposed hole. He pulled my tooth and before he pulled it, he said I had an infection. The pain is unbearable. Should I go back to the same dentist? Is this normal? It was tooth 31.

Answers:
It sounds like you have a "dry socket." This is common. Please go back to your dentist ASAP. It won't get better on its own. Hurry now. Good luck to you, tooth pain is the worst.

Other Answers:
Pain on the 4th or 5th day is CLASSIC for dry socket. If you can look into the hole and see the wisdom tooth, you have lost the clot. Actually, this is not terribly unusual if the wisdom tooth is right there, because the blood clot won't adhere to the tooth like it will to the bone.

Anyhow, your dentist did not do anything wrong and there is no reason to fear going back to him. In fact, you may get all the care you need for this dry socket for free. (Not necessarily, but maybe....) If you go to another dentist, he will have to charge you about as much as you paid for the extraction, because you will be seeing him for a few visits and he is assuming responsibility for your care.
Benzocaine should lower the pain! or Rx Codine.. Thats fun! they recommed you take 1 for every 4 hours! but take 2 and for the 30 min! you will be soo happy! nothing can hurt ur mood
you could need antibiotics get to the dentist love
