home treatment for abcess of primary tooth?

Question:

Answers:
Unfortunately, there is none. It depends what you mean by an abscess. If the child's face is swollen you should seek treatment as soon as possible because the infection could become dangerous to the child's health. If there is a "gum boil" or pimple on the gum in the area of the tooth, this is nature's way of draining the infection. This might not be causing pain at this time because it is draining, but the infection can cause a malformation of the permanent tooth which is forming below the primary tooth. The only definative treatment is either extraction of the tooth or possibly a baby tooth root canal called a pulpectomy to save the tooth. An X-ray would help to determine which would be better.
There is none. Heat from a heating pad will help and Advil to reduce the swelling.... But you are going to need antibiotics and then to have it pulled more than likely.
